CURRENT
PROJECTS
Right now, this is what I focus on:
KULTA
I am continuing my work at KULTA Culture Center in Tromsø,
building the definite circus arts center in Norway.
Especially, I head the Senior High School Circus Program, a
joint venture with Tromsdalen Senior High School, Tromsø,
and the County of Troms. In addition, I am part of the
creative team behind KULTAs professional projects, as well
as performing in many of our shows.
NATIONAL STAGE
FIGHTING TEAM
I am head coach for the Norwegian national team in stage
fencing. We are currently preparing for the world
championships, set to take place in Italy in late summer
2008. As far as stage fighting goes, this is my high
standard, hard-to-get-in-to project. For one who work quite
a lot with amateurs and ideal projects, it feels especially
good for once to be able to set a professional standard. We
have previously won a bronze medal at the Open German
Championships in 2006, and a gold medal in the Torneo
Capoferro in Italy in 2008.
STUNT WORK
So far, the season 2007/2008 has been quite busy, with work
on major feature films like "Far North" and "Arn". I will
continue to pursue stunt work for film when possible. I
also actively seek out talented and dedicated people with
backgrounds from various physical disciplines and
performance arts, with the goal to establish a professional
stunt group based in northern Norway.
WORKSHOPS
In 2007, I have done stage fight workshops in Canada,
Finland, Germany and Russia, as well as in Norway, More and
more, I will do more specialized workshops, sometimes
bringing top instructors from all over the world to Norway
for high level courses directed at professionals from the
worlds of theatre and film.
SIRKUSGÅTER /
CIRCUS PUZZLES
I perform in Sirkusgåter, Norway´s longest running contemporary
circus production to date; it opened in 2004, counting 121
performances as we wrapped for summer vacation this year.
It has been performed throughout Norway, as well as in
Estonia, Finland and Japan. We have no plan to terminate it
yet.
TOUR
PRODUCTION
KULTA will start work on a new touring production in autumn
2008. It will be somewhat similar in size to
Sirkusgåter, with 4-5 performers, but aiming at an
older audience - youth and adults. I will be part of the
ensemble as well as the creative team.
STUDENT STAGE
FIGHT GROUP
I am head instructor for a stage fight group based at
KULTA. Some of my students are quite new at this, while
others have a lot experience and have already completed
their first certifications with the Nordic Stage Fight
Society. This year we are concentrating on unarmed combat,
broadsword, and rapier and dagger. Eventually, some of
these students may join the fight permance group and/or the
stunt group (see below).
TRAINING
I try to train as much as possible, but often there is not
enough time. Still, my priority list is as follows: 1-Stage
fighting, 2-Circus, 3-Aikido.
WRITING
When I grow older and wiser, I´ll turn to writing full
time, I think. In the meantime, practice doesn´t
hurt.
